Welcome to the Logis Troglo du Vigneron in the village of Parnay
For centuries man has been extracting "tuffeau" rock from the cliffs around the Saumur region ; a soft chalky stone, used for the construction of, amongst other things, the numerous châteaux de la Loire.
Over time the caves left behind from extracting the rock were turned into the troglodyte dwellings and wineries for which this region has become renowned.
This secret, inhabited and incomparable underground universe is one of the largest and most varied examples of troglodyte sites in Europe.
In the Logis Troglo du Vigneron you are sure to have an unforgettable experience during your stay in this beautifully renovated troglodyte winery.
